Of course, now the cliches have gone and people have started experimenting with shades. In my recent Colorbar haul, one was a work wear lipstick which has already been reviewed on the blog here, and the other one is Colorbar Matte touch Lipstick in the shade Sweetheart.

What the brand claims ?

It features the glamorous properties of a matte lipstick with velvetty finish which will make you fall in love. This amazing lipstick has intense color that is creamy, soft and glides smoothly on application simply moisturizing and incredibly wearable yet absolutely matte.

Application technique :

Line the lips with a suitable lip liner. Press the bullet to the lips using even pressure to apply color on both upper and lower lips: To refresh and even out, press lips together. Using a lip brush gives a richer and more precise color application.

Is Colorbar Matte Touch Sweet Heart really a Sweetheart ?

Packaging of the Colorbar lipsticks is quite similar across different ranges and this one comes in a full metallic silver casing with Colorbar printed on the lid. I quite like the metallic packaging and it is very compact, but unfortunately it has no indication of the shade in the packaging. Whenever you have more shades from the same range, you have to check for the name or open the lid every time which can be a bit annoying.

The shade Sweetheart is a bright reddish pink shade with blue undertones to it which makes your teeth appear whiter :) It is a rich bright red shade that can make even your dull face appear bright. The shade seems quite similar to Loreal Paris Moist Matte Lincoln Rose to me, however the finish is more shinier than Lincoln Rose.

The shade could possibly be a dupe of Loreal Lincoln Rose at half the price.Nice! I have done a swatch on my lips to show you the shade comparison and I can hardly find a difference in photos, however in person, I feel the formula of Colorbar is better and more glossier than Loreal.

The shade is extremely well pigmented and one swipe would deliver enough color to cover the lips if applied using a lip brush.The texture is not very creamy but does feel light on the lips. It does not dry out the lips nor settle into fine lines but it does need some effort to uniformly cover the lips. The Matte Touch lipsticks have great staying power and this lipstick was in tact for me for about 5 hours and after about 7 hours(with dinner in between), the stain was still there.
