My Current Hair Care Routine for Dry, Rough Hair

dandruff problem home tips
All Natural Hair Care Products

After initiating and quitting new hair care regimens, now finally, I have decided to give a new routine some chance and set out products for use on different days. My new hair care routine is not a very complex one but it involves a lot of chemical free products and also some simple diet changes. I have planned the regimen so that I will not be repeating the products every time I wash my hair in a week so that I can experience the benefits of all the products because my hair has been facing a lot of issues like thinning, dandruff and roughness.

Now let us look at the products and the schedule that I have been following:

1: MABH Hair Oil:

I have been using this hair oil intermittently due to my shifting from Chennai and me not having enough stock of this oil. However, whenever I have used it, I have felt that my hair fall has reduced and my hair has felt softer. You can read more about my hair journey with MABH hair oil here.

2: Banjara's Hair Pack/ Cleanser:

This is one of the greatest budget buys ever and I have stocked up on this when I went to Chennai. This costs just INR 100 , but works really well on my hair and makes it luscious after every single wash. I apply this once a week after I have oiled my hair and let it dry for 20 minutes and wash my hair using only a few drops of shampoo because this mask can work as a cleanser too. My hair feels a lot more healthy and black when I use this mask because of the various Ayurvedic ingredients present in it. I will write a detailed review for this product because this is going to be my favourite hair product.

3: Naturals by Watsons Marula Oil Hair Mask:

I know there are a lot of hair masks going on here but I tell you, these actually play a very crucial role in conditioning your tresses and each one works differently. The Marula Oil Hair mask by Watsons pharmacy is their high-end product that is to be used while in the shower and washed off but still manages to tame the frizz and give soft, shiny hair. I use this once a week when I have not used any other hair mask and just used hair oil.

Naturals by Watsons Marula Oil Hair Mask is made with Certified Organic Marula Oil which contains approximately 75% Oleic Acid, an essential fatty acid with high levels of antioxidants. This hair mask helps to provide the nutrition to repair, nourish and protect your hair and scalp from damage and dryness

Directions

After cleansing with Naturals by Watsons Marula oil shampoo gently pat hair with a towel to remove excess water. Apply an appropriate amount of hair mask and gently massage into damp hair. Leave on for 5-10mins and rinse thoroughly with warm water.

4: Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner:

A product range that I have been wanting to try for such a long time and finally got to buy it since it was on offer and I was running out of my usual Biotique shampoo. I have used it for about 4 washes and I personally like the shampoo more than the conditioner because I feel the conditioner is kind of weighing down my hair a bit. I will come up with individual reviews of all these products after testing them for about 2 months.

5: DIY Hair mask:

Finally in the routine, I have here a homemade hair mask that I use once a week to reduce hair fall and to provide strength to the roots of my hair. I break open an egg, add a few drops of olive oil, a little yoghurt, few drops of lemon juice and whisk it together to create a simple hair mask that I apply with my fingers onto the roots of my hair and leave it on for about 45 minutes to 1 hour. I use this once a week on days I do not use my other store bought hair masks and I leave it on for just 20 minutes.

For clearing away dandruff, I add a few drops of Apple Cider Vinegar to water and rinse my hair in the end with that mixture and it has helped me a little but not completely with dandruff. Dietary changes include eating more protein like Dhal, fruits and vegetables and curbing my caffeine intake.
