It was not until lately that I started developing dark circles due to erratic sleep patterns and hence I decided to buy a good concealer which can cover up my dark circles on those days when my face demands it.
A Small Note : Citibank credit cards are just amazing when it comes to their reward points and I have had a great experience with it back in India as well. Review of MAC Select Cover-Up Concealer in the Shade NW 35 :
Packaging of MAC Select Cover -Up Concealer :
The product is tiny and it comes in a tube packaging with a screw cap. The product has to be squeezed out & a small drop is enough for covering dark circles under both the eyes. It comes enclosed in a usual black MAC cardboard box with the ingredients listed. Overall , a simple and easy to use packaging which is very travel friendly too.
Product Consistency & staying Power :
The MAC Select Cover- Up concealer has a very creamy consistency and working with it under the eyes is a sheer bliss. I prefer using a small tapered brush to blend it evenly under my eyes. I do not have major blemishes apart from my dark circles that need to be concealed. It gets absorbed really quickly by a well moisturized skin and no streaks are observed.The product instantly brightens up my eyes & gives me a fresh look.
The concealer stays put for about 5 hours for me in this humid conditions too and after that slowly starts to melt away. It leaves a streaky appearance after 5 hours for me but it can be solved if you go for a primer underneath which helps in leaving an even and long lasting finish.I also dab a good pressed powder on top of the concealer to prevent sweating and for better results.
MAC Select Cover- Up Fragrance & Shade NW 35 :
The smell of the concealer is typically of that of any other MAC face product, which I am not a big fan of. But once applied, it does not bother you much and I am thankful to MAC for that. The shade NW 35 matches my warm NC 40 complexion which came as a surprise to me. I let the store assistant find the right shade for me since she is a trained makeup artist. She chose the shade in a minute and I was quite apprehensive about wearing a NW for a warm skintone , but she assured me that it matches perfectly with my skintone & voila, I had MAC Select Cover-up in my bag.
