I am not a big fan of brown liners because they do not show up on my eyelids since I have quite a dark eyelid but I got this one on an offer , so I thought this is the best way to try it.

If you had seen my Fall Inspired makeup look, you would have seen me use the H&M's eyeshadow palette with pretty shades from the brown, taupe and purple shade family. These colors are pretty neutral and can match a wide variety of skin tones as well. I am eyeing the Huda Beauty Rose Gold eyeshadow palette because a girl can never have enough makeup. I still have so many unfinished palettes which have to be dumped in a year since they all are going to complete their 3-year expiry period. So coming back to this H&M Aubergineeyeshadow palette, I created a fall inspired look using it and here is the review of the palette with swatches.

Makeup Brushes play a crucial role in your stash and they have to be chosen wisely in order to get the desired results. I cherish my makeup brush collection and always feel that I need to add quality pieces to the collection. I had been eyeing on Zoeva brushes for quite some time and when they had launched in the new Sephora at Ion Orchard , I wanted to have a look at them personally and pick them up. Of all brushes, eye makeup brushes are my favorite because eye makeup is crucial for every makeup artist. I have MAC 217 for my crease blending and sometimes I feel it is not ideal for those with narrow eyelids. From Zoeva, I managed to grab 2 brushes that I felt would be suitable for people with smaller eyelid areas.

I love visiting Sephora every now and then just to geta whiff of their beautiful perfume collections. I also would check out new makeup releases from the Sephora counter and my most favorite NYX counter because I just feel their quality is too good and their price is also affordable. Maybelline, Revlon and Loreal are pretty expensive here in Singapore and I have not bought a single product from these brands after I came here and I really miss them. Indian way of applying makeup and Asian way of applying makeup is way too different from what I expected it to be. They prefer neutral colors and mostly matte shades that just slightly accentuate their eyes while we prefer brighter colors and gold hues to match our traditional outfits. In our class, we practice the makeup techniques taught on each one of us in a rotation and when I got to work with Asian friends, I realized that all my shimmery palettes were a little too bright for them. So I had to invest in a good, matte palette that would have most of the neutral colors and also other shades , just in case I need to add some colors to the outer corner etc. While I was browsing online, I saw a lot of high-end brands offering matte palettes that were pretty good but at the same time expensive. I was looking at a medium budget palette which would serve the purpose and at the same time would not burn a hole in my pocket.

Looking beautiful in person does not guarantee the same in photos too. Lighting can be your friend or foe depending on the type and the direction from which it hits your face. If there is too much of lighting, things such as your naturally thick eyebrows could eventually appear thinner thereby giving an incomplete look. So never attempt posing for your camera ,especially with flash without touching up your brows. 

Rule No 1 for an Instagram-ready pic - Fill your eyebrows well with a good eyebrow pencil. Now talking about Eyebrow pencils, what are the shades that you have to be looking at? I have seen makeup artists use black eyebrow pencil and really wondered how fake can it make a person look on their D-Day. I am not a pro in filling in brows but I do use hem occasionally when I have to attend weddings etc so that it looks complete & fuller. I have been using the NYX Eyebrow pencil for about 6 months now and I am liking it a lot.

Though eyeshadows are probably the last makeup product that I would reach for in case I am running down during an emergency evacuation or an earthquake, I do love stocking up on some pretty eyeshadows. So for donning some pretty eye makeup, you definitely need good eyeshadows, a good brush, and a good base. Talking of eyeshadow base, there are a lot out in the market from different brands with different textures but I always choose creamy textures ones because it helps in binding your eyeshadows way better than anything else.

I have heard a lot of good things about pencil base but I prefer the creamy ones which kind of, at first, conceals the darkness on the lid and secondly holds the powder shadows better.You all must have definitely heard of NYX Jumbo eye pencils which work well as an eyeshadow base but I have NYX's cream base today for review.

A Black eyeshadow is not just for a Black smokey eye - a myth that I thought it was, got busted when I started watching YouTube videos. I began realizing how many of them use eye shadow as an eyeliner especially for the lower lash line and how it helps seal the liner better without smudging. My parents had come to Singapore last week and I felt happy taking them out for sight seeing. One of the first makeup product that I fell in love with was a Mascara, followed by lipsticks. It can add so much glamor to your face and won't cost a bomb but it sometimes underrated too. Mascaras can brighten up your face instantly and can definitely pop your eyes out.

A mascara needs to be updated every 6 months in your vanity because there are high chances of developing an eye infection due to the accumulation of bacteria on the bristles.This is something I adhere to without fail because I cannot take chances when it comes to my eyes. So when my 6 months stint with Faces Mascara was over, I tried my hands on NYX XXL Mascara for which I have mixed opinions so far and let us move on to the review.

Gel liner for SGD 2 ???

My first makeup craze started with eyeliners & I used to buy Maybelline & Lakme colored liners and try them. I used to be so fascinated by them and cherish them so much that when Maybelline first introduced their gel liner, I went crazy & bought it the same day it was released. I used to love how jet black it used to turn out. The only con of a gel liner was that it dries up really fast & it is tough to work with it in that stage. The brush too needs to be cleaned after every single use , in order to be able to work with it the next time , else the liner would dry up on the bristles too.

I kind of gave up on Gel liners and did not invest after that , until Maybelline revamped the packaging of their gel liners & claimed 36 hours stay time. I was tempted to try it out & had read enough reviews to convince myself to get it.  I finally gave in and bought it and again had a great love affair with it, until I had no time to use a gel liner & now it sits there like a rock , not budging even a little bit.

I have time to only use a liquid liner & I prefer it for a thin application. I had gone to this store called Daiso in SG recently for some home needs , when I stumbled upon their Cosmetics section(it was not a planned one- trust me). They do not have a huge cosmetics section,  but they have all the basic products and you know what ? Daiso retails all its products for 2 SGD.

My Rimmel London liquid liner had dried up and it is on the verge of finishing. So I wanted a liquid liner at first & then I saw this shiny little fellow hiding there. I could not resist the cute packaging & told to myself- Come on its just 2 SGD, nothing wrong in trying it out.

Inglot eyeshadow refill in AMC Shine 44 Review , Swatches and Green smoky eyes

Of all the places I have traveled to , women with the best eye makeup ever were spotted in Dubai and women who were best dressed were spotted in Paris & Zurich. I was totally awestruck looking in both the above cases. 

Mastering eye makeup is an art and involves lot of practice & patience which I rarely have. However being a beauty blogger(or at least claiming), I need to often sport some basic eye makeup for reviewing eye products. But I am happy that I get to experiment lot with colors and sometimes it turns out good & sometimes bad. So recently one day, I just stumbled upon this palette of mine which had this gorgeous olive green eye shadow which I had not used at all.

The gorgeous Olive Green Eye shadow that I talked about is the Inglot Freedom System Eye shadow in the shade 44 which comes under the AMC Shine category.

Budget Vs Splurge - Who Won ? MAC Prolong Wear Vs Faces Long Wear

Wondering what am I talking about in the title ? I am going to be discussing about a budget beauty & an expensive buy here and they are The MAC Pro Long Wear Eye Liner in Definedly Black and the Faces Canada Long Wear Eye pencil in Black. 

The price difference between the two is huge but we are now going to find out how the end results are with both the liners.

P.S : MAC was not on my wishlist but it just happened because of the 50 SGD voucher that I got which I have mentioned here.

Colored eyeliner pencils are my go to favorite. They just make your eyes pop in a jiffy. I do not use eye shadows on a daily basis but prefer to use such colored eye pencils and smudge them for a super cool look.Faces eyeliner pencils are my favorite - I just love them to the core. They have such creamy formula which does not smudge for hours and is water proof too ! What else one can expect from a decently priced, drugstore brand. I have 3 of them in my stash and I have reviewed the purple one here which is personally my favorite of all.

Today I will be reviewing the Navy blue shade from Faces Long Wear Eye Pencil.
